Why, hello, what a pleasant surprise to see you here.
You reply, "Likewise."
So why are the neighbors gonna luuuuuuuv us?
Two reasons really:
1. We have 19 rapidly growing chickens in our playroom. Two boys plus 19 chickens - fun, fun, fun. You wonder why I haven't blogged in two months. Well, wonder no more ;o).
2. With the help of Anne and Granddaddy (sadly we have no pictures to prove that they were actually here this weekend of swimming, sushi, yard art, and hot dog roasting), we covered a spot in our yard with, well, with pretty much whatever we could get our hands on. We used a whole box of 45 black out garbage bags held down with bricks and rocks and then proceeded to cover over more with the leftover metal from our new roof.
Don't you think our neighbors will love to see our new yard art installation? and a chicken tractor full of rainbow layers making its way across the yard? One day this June, those layers are gonna be layin' eggs, and our yard art installation will have been replaced with a veggie garden. The yard art is only temporary - just to (hopefully) sterilize the ground before we start a garden there. Eh, I figure the neighbors will deal.

I would forgive my neighbors most anything if they brought me a few fresh eggs whenever they had extras.
I have a question about buying little biddies. What percentage generally make it to adulthood? Do you expect half of them to be males? Do most of the males become dinner soon?
19 laying hens sounds like a LOT.
