Weaning

Did I get your attention?  No, Caedmon is not planning to wean any time in the foreseeable future.  Owen weaned from the breast almost two years ago now, but he's getting a little closer to leaving the family bed - another sort of weaning.  

The upstairs of our house is one, odd-shaped room which will be Owen's bedroom one of these days.  Right now, it's got pink walls and all of his Caedmon-can't-touch-these toys.  

There's been a bit of this

lately.  Owen had been set on his favorite color orange for a while but was leaning toward blue or green for a bit.  

Today, we waited 

for Abram to arrive from a side trip into the big city to bring back a special Craigslist find:

$60 bought us a set of bunk beds

 which we began setting up after dinner.  Note the orange color samples on the wall now - fickle I tell you, fickle.

It's kinda hot up there.  We're gonna need to devise a better system for keeping it cool before Owen moves in.  Tonight we cooled off with some smoothie pops.

When Owen Gets Too Out of Sorts

I asked Owen for a little help one day when he was getting pretty, um, difficult.  He was thrilled to beat the heck out of the rug for me!

I'd been wanted it cleaned for quite a while.  It collects sand from the sand pile that rides into the playroom on the boys and in their shoes.  Ah - so nice to have it clean!
